Alvin Hall could be given an honourary knighthood as a foreigner - a bit like Terry Wogan's.

Don't forget Alvin Hall was a pioneer of this kind of thing.
    Whatever happened to him?
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

What a daft idea ! Some undeserving people have been Knighted in the past ,but this is just crazy . I do like this site and its help in loads of ways ,but Knighthoods should be for special people , ie heart surgery pioneers, conquerors of mountains and seas, fund raisers , outstanding sports people and the like . So please stop wasting your time on this !

With respect to Martin, if he continues to fight for consumers in the same way for the next 20-30 years then he may well be in the running for something like this.

    But now.......

    ooh just had a thought

    how's about

"we the undersigned wish to have the opportunity to vote in a general election post haste to remove the lunatic currently running the asylum (after said lunatic also let the country run into financial ruin)" signed Sara_501 ;)

methinks it'd get removed though - so much for a free country....back to the drawing board....

Thanks OP, I have signed it. Martin has helped so many people, from those who are financially secure and just want some tips to stay that way and increase their money to those who are in absolute despair due to debts, baillifs and homelessness.

Some people may scoff about the petition and say it's dramatic but I wonder how many actual lives he has saved? Debt can affect people in an absolute catastrophic way and lead to suicide in many cases. The most important and valuable thing Martin has done (in my opinion) is highlight that people in debt are not alone, and that there is help and support to those who need it. Just knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel is enough for some people to not give up hope

In a selfish world where many people live by the code "dog eat dog" Martin stands up and helps people tirelessly campaigning for the consumers rights and fighting the financial institutions that will so gladly bully and harrass people who are often vulnerable and depressed
