New to benefits / tax credits can anyone help me sort this out?

Hiya
Could anyone please advise me where to start with benefits / tax credits?
We are expecting a baby, living on rented flat, earning about 32000 a year.
In the following years, as my partner should be looking after baby, our income should drop to about 22000. I am also looking to go into Higher education, so It looks like next 3 to 5 years should be pretty hard for us.
What actually could I be entitled to, to support my family?

Hi crism, some nosey sounding but relevant questions for you...
How old are you both? Is your partner working at the moment and when is the baby due? (Congratulations by the way :))

You will be entitled to Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit for definite once the baby is born. Other benefits might fit your situation but we need a little more info

Have you been on www.entitledto.com ? Tap in all your details and it gives you a break down of all the benefits you may be entitled to. You can do a few different scenarios too to work out your money according to different situations!

It's pretty reliable, at least in my case and of those I know who have used it. The other site that I swear by is directgov
