Hot water taps not working?

My Mum's just gone to do the washing up and the hot water tap isn't working, nor upstairs. The cold tap is ok, but a lot of pressure she said.
Any ideas as to why this could be?

is there water coming out of the taps?
how is the hot water heated... via ch and a cylinder or combi or immersion heater or what?0 -
Could be no water to your cws cold water tank, ballvalve blocked or stuck.A thankyou is payment enough .0
