Thanks everyone, for your support, the day went a bit like this:

Arrived B'ham about an hour early, found where I'd got to go then sat outside in the sun eating my sandwich when I get a phonecall from the interviewer asking if I was still ok for the meeting. Instantly felt a bit more relaxed as he seemed really down to earth.

Over the next hour, the nerves built back up till I went into the office. I couldnt believe it when he came to collect me from reception, the guy was in a t-shirt & trainers, here was me worrying whether I should have put a tie on.

After a bit of faffing as theyd only moved into the office a couple of days ago the interview started (the interviewer was not the OR, but someone who wrote the reports for him - is this normal?). I wouldnt say it was pleasant, but it was nowhere near as bad as I feared, in no way was the guy judgmental, and I never felt like I was being interrogated or pressurised, he just basically went through my paperwork asking when I had that credit card, what did I use the money for. There were a lot of 'don't knows' I tell you!

I am guessing I will get another call as they didnt have any of the statements I'd sent in so I imagine they will call and quiz me on what I spent certain amounts on etc, but after about 85 minutes it was all over!

I thought I felt relieved after court, but that was nothing compared to how much better I feel now!

For anyone who's not had the interview yet, don't panic (not that I ever followed that advice), its not the nicest way to spend your afternoon, but it won't be as bad as you fear! The worst feeling was just my own embarrassment for the mess I've got myself into.

Well done mej24. It is normal for you to just have a OR assistent. It is rare that the OR actually does the interviews. That is reserved for more complex cases. Also don't worry about them not having the letter ect My OR never had any of my paperwork when he did the interview and i never heard from him again.

Yes the relief is enormous after that interview and it's gets better as time goes by.

Now go find a nice pub and sit in the evening sun and buy yourself a well earned pint:beer: an have the best nights sleep you have had in a long time:D

Thanks for posting that Mej, glad it went ok for you.

I was the same afterwards .. big weight had been lifted :)

Same as Dalip.. My "OR" hadn't looked at my statements before the interview but haven't heard anything from him since!
