Does anyone else think it's highly suspicious that the top 30 or so people in the overall challenge have got scores of 8500 and above?
It seems pretty obvious to me that they are cheating on rather a grand scale!

To get a score of 8700 overall you would have to have got every single question correct over the 9 weeks so far, and done each of the weekly puzzles of 5 questions in under 33 seconds total!
To get 8900 or above you have to have all the answers correct and done each complete weekly puzzle in 11 seconds!
    Seems pretty impossible to me!

So I can only deduce that some serious cheating is happening - no-one is that smart!

I guess this "leagues" thing might have something to do with it, as I would presume they are sharing answers in some way for the weekly challenges, with one person writing all the questions down then giving them to the others so they can enter them as quickly as possible. Surely this can't be allowed?

I mean, I know we share answers on here, (and I must admit I have a second logon on behalf of my other half) but we're not sharing the weekly ones and cheating on our points! And even if we were sharing the questions for the weeklies on a large scale - there's still some that no-one seems to understand - like the dialling numbers ones!

Do you think this will be looked into by the judges before the overall winner gets their prize? Otherwise it's a rather unfair conclusion and is a bit of a fix!
Do you reckon the weeklies are getting fixed like this too? All the winners must be getting 950 or over to win going on some other people's scores!

(Not that I was expecting to win - the best I've done is one weekly where I got 956! The rest of my weekly scores are under 800 - averaging about 670 overall!)

It's really beginning to get my goat - why are there always some people who have to cheat and take away the chance of a fair competition for the rest of us? It sucks the fun out of competing!

Not worried, just having a morning rant at the unfairness of it all! :P Grrrrrr!

In fact, after I'd written that, I made up a fake registration persona to try and see if I could beat the system, and it seems that the scoring system is more complicated than in Thingamabob's post!

If you get all 5 questions correct you must get a bonus of more points, as for one round I got 993 points, and it took me much longer than 7 seconds to complete it! I didn't see how long it was, but it must have been around about a minute, so maybe you get 50 extra points?
For other rounds, where I got at least one question wrong, it did seem that the system was 200 points per question then minus the number of seconds it took.

But still, getting 5 out of 5 every week simply must take a little bit of cheating between friends!

I'm still stuck as to what the telephone dialling ones meant!

Having just done a couple more of the old weeklies, and noted my time, my score definitely wasn't simply 200 points per correct question minus the time in seconds!

I think you also get a different number of points if you 'Pass' rather than get an answer wrong. (I was always told by my teachers that it was better to try something than to give up though! LOL!)

Or maybe you get a bonus for finishing in under a minute or some other speed bonus?

It's all too confusing for my little brain on a Friday   ;)
