Most ADSL routers will work with AOL it's just they will only support a few.
You can use PPPoA with AOL. The important thing is to drop the MTU size down to around 1400.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

This product does not have a built in modem......are you assuming that the poster uses his USB modem from his ISP to run into this? Does it have a USB port?netdumdum wrote:I have a similar setup, my broadband connection comes in downstairs and I have my PC in my upstairs office.
Your best bet is to get one of these http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=51436
Is a wireless router, means it broadcasts the internet connection so you can access the internet anywhere in the house.
However you should double chheck that your daughters laptop has a wireless receiver, otherwise it would be unable to pick up the signal!
If it doesnt you can still buy them from http://ebuyer.com.
Hope this helps.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Hi If you are using AOL just type in keyword " networking" - it will bring up all the information and even a short video explaining how its done. If you use certain makes of router etc you even get telephone help with installation.
You do however need to upgrade to AOL Gold or Platinum to use the networking facility.
Hope this helps0 -
The Netgear DG834G will work with AOL. This is a good ADSL/router.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
