Need cheap coach travel - all tips welcome

Hi all, Myself and my husband need to travel to London Fri 30th May and return Sat 31st May. We can't go by train as there are loads of rail improvements on the Saturday and it would literally take us all day to get home. We are now considering coach travel, however on first glance it seems return coach travel for two will cost more than £100 - how can we cut our costs, we really cannot afford this much money. Please help!!!

£40 return (£20 each) with megabus

£55 return (£27.50 each) with National Express - less if the fun fare departures are suitable

Where did you get 'over £100' from????? The only thing I can think of is you put 2 passengers in and assumed the price was each rather than total.

Dependant on times you could get the train down on the Friday for £28 for both of you and the coach back on Saturday for £20

Having a bit of a dilemma now - we originally wanted to get train but there are works on track the days we want to travel....thats why we were thinking of coach. Coach prices are very reasonable but on checking take nearly six hours to get there. Any recommendations for flights from Liverpool to London????
