Unless there is a co-habitiation agreement in place then his rights are basically nothing, regardelss of how long he has lived there.

The common law wife / husband thing is a MYTH.

Basically, his rights are determined by a judge, if he were to take you to court over anything. The longer he has been there and the more he can prove he has paid towards x,y and z, the more likely the judge is to award £xxx, but there is no law that gives him the automatic right to anything.

I would ask him to move out, if he doesnt then apply to have him evicted. CAB should be able to advise you on how to do this with no tenancy agreement in place.

See a solicitor and got to court, get an emergency injunction preventing him going within 100 yards of your home.

Stay in your home and sell it. Either buy something more affordable or sell up and rent.

Visit the local pup and play the helpless waif and get some local heavies to get him out then change locks right away.

Bullies like that only understand their own medicine.
