Paying alot for my electric

Hi All,

Alot of my bills were estimated which meant i was being underestimated the last 2 readings i gave them. THEY DID NOT Increase my MONTHLY PAYMENTS and i knew i owed them £200. I was paying a Monthly DD of £30 p/m last month i paid BG a extra £30 to try and clear up some of the arrears BG have not contacted me about this.

When Martins email came out i looked at capping my bills with the expected increases. so i signed upto E-ON on their capped plan.

3 days later i get a letter of BG saying my new DD for my electric will be £86 per month. Even with my arrears how the hell can they justify that amount of money. I know with leaving them i will have to pay £200 i just think the way they have gone around it stinks.

BTW i have a 3 bed semi...

What do u guys think....

They are simply recovering the money you owe them over a few months.

Would you prefer they took the whole £200 in one go?

You might feel it should be discussed, but no Company does so and they are not required to either; all they must do is inform you in advance. You can of course contact them and negotiate!

The all powerful computer calculates the new DD.

If your DD payments with your new company are too low(and they usually are) they will do exactly the same.

Maybe when you knew you were under-paying you could have spoken to them about changing the DD amounts sooner?
