American Bidder 0 Score

I have just had a bid on one of my lidted items. When I checked the bidder was from USA joined Ebay today and therefore had a zero rating.

My listing gives postage cost to UK of £2.99 and further states no international shipment.

I dont quite know what to do: I have emailed the bidder after going on the RM website and told him that the cost to send to USA will be approx £5.50.
As yet no reply but what happens if the auction ends and he is still highest bidder and does not accept the higher postage required or worse still does not have a Paypal account.

Im a little confused as well because when I went through my listing it stated that as I did not ship overseas my item would be listed on Ebay UK only. If this is the case how did the American bidder get to view the item? Opinions gladly taken

You really don't seem to have much luck on ebay.

I'm afraid I do rather have to echo what Dave says, I don't think I have had as many problems as you in all the 9+ years I have had an ebay account.

Anyway, you need to recheck your seller preferences to make sure they specifically exclude bidders from countries that you don't ship to. If you do that they CANNOT bid. If you've done that and this buyer has still managed to bid it means you have somewhere got a US option ticked, even though you haven't shown a postage cost.

As for the rest of the question, at end of auction just send an invoice with the post and packing to the uS showing. If they don't pay then just go through the usual NPB at day 7. One other word of warning as I rather suspect you are very new to ebay, watch items going overseas, limit them to under £36 so that you are covered on basic postal insurance, and do not ship phones for any reason. Also make sure you only use airmail, never offer surface as you will just end up with a cautious buyer putting in a protective paypal chargeback before day 45.

your bidder might have looked on ebay.co.uk and not notice there is no international shipping. I think you can withdraw his bid (if there is more than 24 hours to ending) explaining there is no shipping outside UK

Sorry to sound 'nosey' but is the item worth much that they have bidded on? We all have to start somewhere on ebay. And if its not worth much then i would take the chance and obtain proof of postage etc, just to be safe.
