Upvc Window Locks

Hello

I am after some advice I did post on this forum some time ago but cannot seem to find my post.

I have UPVC windows and closing the actually window the actually handle does not lock. Now I have wondered around Homebase and other DIY stores for ages and cannot seem to a handle to replace the actually mechansim. The other windown in my front room will not open due to me loosing the key.

Does anyone know where I can by a replacement handle from? I think this has a special name but cannot rember.

Thanks so much

Yasmin

Make a note of the spindle length and go to an architectural ironmonger. Don't bank on getting a matching one - they change regularly.

And please turn down the font size in your post.

    Something similar happened to me.

I found a local double glazing repairs (the name was something like double glazing doctor or door doctor). Anyway they replaced the handle and gave me a new key. It wasn't exactly the same, but near enough.

Yes I have bought quite a few new sets of hinges for my windows from this guy.
Quick delivery and cheap as chips.

nmbash is right. I have used a 'Window Doctor' and they seem to have access to all the trade stuff. There are literally hundreds of locks and handles on the market and you will have your work cut out for you trying to find the correct one. I think I paid less than £30 for the gut to come and sort it. Its money well spent.
