Life insurance - any recommendations?

Hello,
My partner and I do not have life insurance and are looking for some recommendations of policies. My partner is a self-employed company director in his late 30s and I am currently a stay-at-home mum with two babies in my late 20s.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted!

Advice on life assurance is a regulated activity and giving advice on regulated areas is against board rules as well as breaching FSA rules. Discussion is fine though.
Depending on your circumstances you will typically pick one or more from the following types of policy:
family income benefit
level term assurance
decreasing term assurance
whole of life assurance
There are others but these are the mainstream ones. Often people have multiple needs which results in multiple policies being required. Some may need to be in trust as well to avoid IHT and/or speed up payment.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
