Scorch marks on grass from dog - any solutions?

Don't know if I should be posting this here or Gardening!

Basically we have a girl dog and are getting scorch patches on grass - just wanted to know whether anyone knows of anything that perhaps coould go in her water that may neutralise her wee?

Does anything exist?

i seem to remember that adding tomato puree to their food helps, but have never tried it, my lawn is destroyed now anyhow

Tomatoes or tomato products shouldn't be given to animals that have arthritis as it can exacerbate symptoms.

You can buy products in pet shops to add to food which is supposed to neutralise the urine and make it less harsh on grass but I personally wouldn't be happy giving anything like that to my dog.

The most effective way is to chuck a bucket of water (or turn the hose) on the spot where she has pee'd as soon as she has finished. Of course, this means that you have to be vigilant and watch her whilst in the garden.

The good news is that the scorched patches should grow back more lush and dense than before.

mine doesn't The area just dies off and I have to re-seed it :rolleyes: I just throw water of the area where she has wee'd to help prevent scorching.
