Idiot Tradesman!!!!

I am so cross!!! I have a failed, cracked cement render thats causing damp problems in the house and I've been looking to remove it as the company that installed it has gone bust. I hate the rendered look anyway, so would love to restore the brick. I called a brick cleaning company and they claimed they could remove it without damaging the brick.
Great I thought, I can just put a waterproofing solution over the bricks, get em repointed and bobs your uncle... then he told me how much - £2,000 which is £700 for scaffolding and £1300 to do the job.
So I told him it would have to wait as I would need to save up the dosh. He offered to do a small sample so I could see how it would work. Like a fool I agreed and specifically asked him to do the side wall.
The idiot has come in and done the front wall  My mom was supposed to be in to supervise at 2:30 but they turned up before she got there at 12:30 - the damage had already been done. The worst thing is, its not even a good job   They've left my bins covered in muck and you can still see the cement render, its not down to clear brick and it looks scraped off. So how the heck is that better than using a hammer and chisel ? He was supposed to be using a wet removal method - i presumed with chemicals.
I could cry now, as its so big and conspicous, you can hardly miss it
I just don't understand why he couldnt have done a small patch somewhere hidden away and why he turned up earlier than agreed. I'm too hacked off to call him and tell him not to bother quoting me, just really fed up with having a damp wall and now a big so**ing patch of concrete-streaked brick in front of my house
