Hi
I have a ford fusion 1.4tdci, and the fan/blower is only working in position 4, full blast.
I have no fan in position 1, 2 or 3.
Any one know what i need to replace?
Thanks

As it's working on position 4, I suspect that here might be a resistor pack, which provides 3 electrical resistances to slow the fan down to speeds 1, 2 & 3. They carry a lot of current, get very hot and the connectors are prone to burning out.

Actually what happens is that people don't bother changing the pollen filter so the fresh air intake flows less and its in this that the resistor pack sits. It gets too hot and the thermal fuse blows. Make sure that when you get it changed that the pollen filter gets done too.

Are Ford cars still suffering from this problem?? Had a 1996 mondeo (mk 1) which had the same problem. It was common on mondeos. You can get a kit which consists of a resister pack and a wiring loom which had thicker wires to take the current. Some original wiring sleeve were known to get burned.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

Yeah..they're still suffering the same problem. Those that are serviced properly don't.
