When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will/have:
Jak - well done on yesterday's no spend day:T :T

:hello: Morning Everyone, hope a nice Saturday awaits us all...weather a bit dull here but hopefully it will brighten up as day goes on:hello:
Not a good start to morning for me_pale_ ....woken by same creditor I've been having trouble with for last couple of weeks who say they still haven't had updated DMP proposals from CCCs:mad: I'm now seriously thinking I would be best negotiating my own DMP....at least then I would be sure creditors were getting info/payments without any drawn out hassle because I'd be the one doing the sending.
Anyway enough of that.....DFW stuff now;)
Checked online banking.....all looking as expected
Storecupboard/fridge/freezer meals today:A
Should have NSD as I've no need to go out:A
Lots of houseworky things to keep me busy at home though:rolleyes:
Will peg out washing on line shortly:A
Have a read of new thriller I've borrowed from a friend:rotfl:
Think that's about it really for today:j :T :j:hello: :jEternal Optimist:j:hello:BR 22.09.08:staradmin BSC Member 201:staradmin0 -

hey all gorgeous day here out in the garden with my laptop!
*have checked online banking
*busy playing free bongo
*will do onepoll
*do piggy clicks
* work out a money plan of action lol!
*goin to driving range with dad which will be free because i'll get him tp pay!!Aug £10 a day £0/£10000 -
Thanks Andan:T
I'm sure it will be resolved eventually:rolleyes:
I just think I could possibly make a better job of it myself because I would have only my own debt situation to focus on whereas the CCCS has thousands of debtors to deal with which inevitably results in a great deal of management, bureacracy and red tape. :wall::hello: :jEternal Optimist:j:hello:BR 22.09.08:staradmin BSC Member 201:staradmin0 -
Trying to get debt is hard and sometimes it gets me down, but after reading the small things which people are doing today has given me renewed enthusiasm. So today I have / will:
* Hang washing outside, I have the washing machine going all day Saturday, so this will be a great saver (for today anyway)
* Chase my bank for letter to mirror bingo to say I never received the £30 they were transferring over a month ago.
* Finish my career roadmap for the next year, playing heavily on give me more money.
* take the kids to the park and try and tire them out before bedtime
* Not pay my vigrin media bill, as they are swapping billing systems and cannot accept payments!!!!
Hope you all have a good day in the sunshine.0 -
Afternoon all- only just!
Today:- I have paid £700 cash into almost dormant account, (e-bay proceeds )which only half pays the OD.
- Cleaned the bathroom and kitchen OS, with micro fibre cloths and star drops.
- Claimed back £50+ in charges on CC:eek: incurred because they rejected a payment. (this is my cashback cc, cleared in full each month) Checked on-line & they Have done it
- Sheets are on the line.
- Saving the cost of a spray on tan, by doing the gardening in the sunshine. (I've never had a salon tan, does this count as a saving?)
- worked out the budget for the next 3 months in order to clear 2 0% cards which end in August.
