Stupid Washing question

Hubby bought DD back some lovely outfits from India anyway I started washing her next size stuff and new holiday stuff ready (including a lovely little red top Hubby bought her) not thinking obviously I put everything in to wash including her brand new white summer coat icon_lol.gif

Now everything is a lovely pink icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif Any suggestions to get it out? I have washed with napisan, and put colour catchers in (afterwards icon_rolleyes.gif ) I have washed 3 times still pink icon_lol.gif

Any suggestions? Although the coat looks okay....things like a blue strippy top now has baby pink strips icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif

I think we've all done this from time to time.

Try Dylon Colour Remover to remove pink dye from plain white items.

It wouldn't be suitable for patterns though, as it will lift that colour too. If the teeshirt isn't a very nice colour, try using another dye (say darker pink or blue) to redye.

    Good luck!

What you use depends on the fabric: generally synthetics do not dye well. If the fabric can be washed at a warm temperature (40 degrees plus) you are okay to dye in your washing machine if you have one. Dylon do a good range that is suitable for cotton and cotton mixes (though the colour will be paler with a mix). What you have to do is wash the fabric and take it out of the machine, put the dye (powder) in the machine with salt (which fixes the dye) then place the wet items on top. Then you just need to run the wash cycle. Afterwards you need to make sure the machine is rinsed out and to wash the newly dyed items separately (or at least away from whites/pale colours) for a few washes.http://www.fredaldous.co.uk/shop-online/dylon-machine-dye.htm
Dylon have a website but the animation bit is so flashy it takes ages to load!
You can buy Dylon dyes in Woolworths if you want to get them locally.

If you don't have a machine there is a range of cold dyes but they are more messy and involve soaking.

I do you a bit of redyeing, not least for faded black cotton (tshirts etc) which come up like new. You can even strip colours and redye, though the effect is a bit unpredictable ('stripped' red redyed blue may or may not look blue).

PS I've just had a look online and it looks like there is now dye where you don't need to add salt.

Sorry to hear it didn't work.
If you don't like the shade of pink you could always redye a brighter colour.
