Advice Appreciated re Investing for New Grandson

Rather than give grandson aged 2yrs 5months pocket money, I would like to invest about £10 per month for him. I can open an account with a couple of hundred pound for him (back pocket money!), and then the £10 per month.
Can anyone advise any investments? Don't mind stocks and shares (medium risk), as it's over the long term, but most schemes I've seen want you to put in more than I can afford per month.
Any advice appreciated.

At that age he must have a Child Trust Fund. If his parents are contributing regular money to that - you could add to it (particularly if it's an Investment as opposed to cash CTF?) :

Failing that, or if you want your contribution independent ... read this :-

The Halifax Regular Saver (10%) fits your requirement (£10 to £100 pm) .. fuller detail in the article. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Is this your first grandchild, and have you considered how many more little bundles of joy you may eventually gain?
I ask because my first child had far more generous presents from many people, including her grandparents, than my subsequent kids, the fourth one didn't do too well at all!
Believing they should all get the same, we have dipped in our own pockets to equalise things for the later ones.
Would you be able to invest at the same level for any more grandchildren?0 -
Yes - I've thought of that - one of the reasons I'm putting the level at £10 per month - don't know how many more grandchildren I might have to fork out for! Thanks for the help so far!0
