Paypal question

I have a Paypal account and am happy to use it as a buyer, although I only buy occasionally from Ebay.
I am expecting to move house, downsizing, sometime in the near future and will have some items I will wish to sell, including a fair few card making craft items as I don't expect to have the room for it all when we move.
I have been an infrequent seller in the past and have always asked for cheque payment.
Now that the rules have changed and Paypal must be offered as a form of payment, after reading lots of threads on here about problems with Paypal I am very unsure about wanting to use it as a seller. Then, of course, there is the question of Paypal fees as there are so many craft items on Ebay I don't expect to get a great price for them.
Can someone explain how Paypal works for selling and what the fees are please.
Also, does anyone know of an alternative site where craft items might sell well?
Thanks.

Paypal fees are here:

As for alternative sites for craft items, I have seen etsy mentioned which I believe is a US site, but I can't offer any advice about it as I have never used it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As a lot of craft items sell for low prices, e.g. 99p, what with Ebay fees and Paypal fees then I can't see it being worthwhile.
I suppose what I am really after is an auction site that allows cheque payments from buyers. Does anyone know if there is one still allowing cheques and not insisting on Paypal?0 -
None of the other auctions sites insist on paypal, for a full list look on the 'helpful hints' sticky thread.
However, the very fact that you thought of ebay first and couldn't think of another is the very reason why you may struggle to sell anywhere else, paypal or not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
