Axa Sunlife

I have been having a general clean up of all my finances of late via this wondeful website. I came across a thread entitled AXA Sunlife and having a policy myself read with interest...

Well, im glad i did.

I stated this policy in April 2002 at £20 a month increasing to £24 in year 2, £28 in year 3, £32 in year 4, £36 in year 5 and £40 thereafter.

By my calculations i have paid in £2240 to date. I rang them today to ask for a surrender value and was quoted £1677.89 (including bonuses).

Time to get out!! An expensive lesson to learn but i am so glad that i read through the original thread and checked out my policy.

£1677.89 payable straight off my credit card (0% interest of course) which means my credit card is now all but paid off bar a very few pounds which in turn now allows me to start chipping away at the capital on my mortgage.

Im really just letting anyone know about this just incase anyone else has an AXA Sunlife Savings plan - Be ware!

Ive just found another AXA Sunlife thread and perhaps i shoudl have added on to that post.. anyway.. reading through that particular thread i see that a lot of people who took out a policy in 2002 used the "misleading advertising" as a way of getting their total contributions back from AXA plus interest.

Do you think it is worth me trying this bearing in mind i started my policy in April 2002?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

From what I have read on the subject recently, you need to ring them and get the address of complaints dept and write to them. Just sent my letter although I bought in to it in 2001. Good luck.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
