Always, only do it in the microwave!
Don't fancy seeing my saucepan sitting on the grass - what would the neighbours think ??? ??? They'd probably think I was turning into Mr Trevis (remember him???)0 -

got to admit, thought of neighbours seeing assorted pans on the lawn does put me off a bit. ;D0 -
I have done similar, occasionally I clean my stainless steel whistling kettle, i put it in the back garden, stand well back and spray it with oven cleaner. I leave it out there til its clean. I dont care what the neighbours think. They have beer cans in their gardenMember no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

The things I have on my lawn do tend to cause some amusement to my neighbours.
The best was the 35ft by 10ft by10ft Aldebaren Gateway.
But thats another story in itself.
So I think a saucepan would be pretty insignificant lol0 -
Maybe I should get out more. I must lead a very sheltered life :-*0

I've recently started making porridge for breakfast again, used to years ago sharing with a flatmate. We lived frugally enough, and I learned that baked bean omelette is lovely. Anyway, not being much of a cook, my fiance was impressed enough with my porridge that I am allowed to make it every day! I do the old fashioned way; I found the microwave too unpredictable for boiling over. I am lucky now in that Mother in Law gave us her old Pyrex saucepans. So my recipe for two people is: one cup of Cheapy cheap porridge oats, one cup of milk, one cup of water, pinch of salt if I remember, all in the pan and heat slowly until it goes gloopy. Then leave to settle for a minute before serving.
A couple of weeks ago, I burnt TWO porridges in TWO days. I looked on the web, read my "How Clean is Your House" book, and couldn't find the combination of burnt porridge and Pyrex. So I soaked and soaked with cheapy cheap biological washing powder, and after a week, I was able to use the pans again. I will never again walk away from a porridge pan.0 -
Hi Yall
I am a nuisance for burning pots.
Eg) Rice
Curry
Pasta
Stew
If you soak your pan in cold water with 3 tbs salt they should come up a treat. This tip was given to me by an old dear on the bus one day.
It certainly works for me. ;D
You can spend your time alone re digesting past regrets,
Or you can come to terms and realize you're the only one who can forgive yourself.
Makes much more sense to live in the present tense.
