An unusual one- won an accountant!

I've just had an email from the Mail on Sunday to tell me my business has won this comp to win free accountancy and a business mentor for a year. Thanks for posting it, rrickyuk!
This has come at a great time for us- my brother and I are still finding out the tricks and trials of being self employed as we inherited a business after my parent's sudden deaths. Hopefully this prize will be as helpful as it sounds.
I have NO idea how to value this for the £2008 for 2008 challenge!

Considering some of the fees I have seen charged where I work, I'd think of a number times it by 6 then add a zero! lol"I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
Wow. This is great. I am so pleased that you've won something useful. Maybe someone really is looking down on you and you are blessed with this win..
This prize price relates to your years end profits usually because accountants normally charge a percentage, thats only for auditing books and dealing taxman, etc. not mentoring., well that was my experience. Might be a good idea to ask him what his quote would have been, bet its a biggee tho.0 -
Just as an addition to my last post. DH was one man band. 4 years ago accountant charged £450 to check my figures all ready computed, not a penny discrepancy, perfect match. income against expenditure. All he had to do was fill out form. No other profits, losses, income, no employees. would have taken him couple of hours tops.0

Well done,
At today's prices inc the mentoring (depending on how good your accountant is ) you're looking at about £1000-1500......... yes really! could possibly be worth more."Every time you feel yourself getting pulled into someone else's nonsense, tell yourself: Not my circus, not my monkeys." - Mark Borkowski.
