In a similar situation, have just moved in so know what you mean. I phoned direct line and explained the situation and they sorted out my house insurance no problem.0

My house is still not registered on some servers at least 1 year after the postcode was created.
I got a letter 6 months after moving in from the postoffice to say my details were now on the system with no input from me.
All my online stuff would not recognise my new address but ringing directly has never been a problem. There is one good thing about not being on any register, "some people don't register with the TV license for a few months".
I would never have done this:rolleyes:
You may be lucky like my neighbours, they registered with EON the same day as me, they never got a bill so hassled them. After loads and loads of phone calls they still not had there first bill 8 months later. Anything over 12 months is a bonus for them as they can not claim back beyond then.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0
