I bought three (buy 2 get 1 free) & before trying them, I assumed it was the same as the old stuff:o I bought another 3 (buy 2 get 1 free) from a different (but nearby store).

Just checked the code & barcode on the "other" three. Its different again. I just washed my face in that one to see if it also made my face red & it does:mad: so I doubt its a batch thing:confused: , just like sunburn, isn't it:mad:

Maybe we are allergic (or sensitive) to it. But generally speaking, I can use ANYTHING on my skin without problems, so its strange this organic "stuff" would bother me:mad:

 It could be the lemon oil - in the wrong concentrations this can cause skin sensitivity and irritation - and I'm sure citrus oils can cause photosensitivity too. I'm not an expert by any means though, just someone with very irritable skin...

    Personal pronouns are they/them/their, please.

I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.

I agree with you MrsE- I also doubt if it's a batch thing. It's weird, 'cos I can usually put anything on my skin too. Maybe there is too much Geranium oil in it- it does smell quite strongly of that (don't know if the other one did as I never tried it). Or maybe it is the lemon oil as Magpye says- that's one ingredient that wasn't in the other one.

You must be pretty annoyed having bought loads. Maybe you could take them back and say you had an allergic reaction to it? I know in Boots they would give you a refund but I'm not sure about Mr. T.

I can give them to my DD if it suits her, she is a C&P fan, so will probably be happy to try the cheap version.

I agree, lemon oil is a known irritant especially if you have sensitive skin, it also must not be applied just before using a sun bed or exposure to strong sunlight.

    MrsE!!

Passing the cheap stuff to your daughter... indeed!! :D

I'm doing fine with C&P and all the Liz Earl - so I'll pass on this other stuff thanks very much.

My skin did calm nicely.. but thanks to all the pollen etc, I now have my usual rash.. Attractive, not. :o:o:o

This is not sounding good! I loved the old Tesco cleanser and fortunately managed to get the last batch of the old stuff from my local branch (and 3 for 2). I'll have to get some of the new version to try it. Liz Earl is a no-go for me unfortunately - I get the same sunburn effect and I think it's the eucalyptus oil there. The Sanctuary one does exactly the same as well.

Well I am happy to report that no adverse reactions here - and I too have super sensitive skin.

I think it just goes to prove that "one size doesnt fit all" no matter what claims are made by manufacturers
