Earlier today I headed off to Tesco armed with my £5 voucher from NOW and a pile of MOCs printed from here. I have used MOCs regularly when purchasing the item but this was my first visit using MOCs when I had not purchased the items.

I carefully chose the youngest, most bored looking SA she happily scanned all my shopping then I pulled the envelope full of MOCs out of my bag she had a strange look on her face! Thought I may have a problem with her accepting them but how wrong was I! I gave her my NOW voucher first then a pile of others, didn't want to push my luck too much so didn't give her all the MOCs that I had. Gave her £7 worth of MOCs mainly for things that I hadn't bought she happily scanned the lot and never said a word! A number of them were internet coupons so was waiting for her to say something but nothing!

Will be keeping an eye out for her again

Hi, Can I ask what Tesco you used? I too live in Ayrshire :)

I used £12 worth of MOCs at my local Asda a couple of days ago, there were a couple of internet coupons and the SA took the lot without a problem
    HI Engadine,
Which Asda did you use? I had a heck of a time today at Adrossan took me about 30 minutes of someone asking this one and that one and other people with their groceries after me were puffing and huffing. Also can anyone tell me does Asda accept tesco £5 off or not? they said no today.

Had problems with Tesco Brook Green taking MOC's....went all the way to the manager blah blah blah.... and the bottom line is they will not accept any coupons unless you buy the item FULL STOP.
Any one know of a user friendly (in a Moc sort of way) suppermarkets around the Hammersmith area?

In previous experience both the one on Shepherd's Bush Rd and the one on Cromwell Rd are a bit fussy if you don't actually buy the items! That said, both their selfscan would let you use about 3 coupons, but no more.

I am real trouble getting a sensible answer from tesco ( by email) about their coupon policy when you do not buy the item. I have been emailing for 3 weeks and am no further forward.
If anyone has a clear email reply from them and would be happy to email it to me, please can you pm me.

    Thank you very much

I cannot understand why everyone is continually emailing Tesco about this. They are going to get fed up and suspicious , and withdraw their generous policy, for fear of it becoming a target of the MOC companies anger.

There is copy of their policy on this forum. Just print it and carry it as backup, so you cannot be acused of being a thief. If your store still says no, find another.

I have hundreds of coupons, but i am frantically trying to get rid of them, before someone on here pushes Tesco in a different direction.

I dont think this is a potential problem at all because Tesco do need to sort this out - their staff should be aware of their own policies we should not have to tell them - the more people the ask maybe I will motivate Tesco to make this even more clearer - they wont stop accepting them because Internet coupons still bring them in revenue!

Also their policy is not genorous the reason we can get freebies and discounts is to give a product promo - the brand hopes that we will buy the product in the future because we like it so much. The supplier reimburses the shop therefore we are entitled to a company boosting promotion and us trying the product for free or discount.

I'm relatively new to this forum and using MOC's and I have to honest please or offend I'm sick n tired of it all.

Yes it is fustrating when some staff know the policy and others don't (been there done that again and again) but at the end of the day as Tesco state "it is down to the managers discretion on the acceptance of internet vouchers" - if he says no its no - head office are not going to change the managers mind. Thats the get out clause.

I agree the constant emails could result in a potential problem with using MOCs in the way we all do.

But I am sick n tired of coming on here to find the constant bickering.

I used to enjoy coming on here and have a laugh/smile at some of the comments on here.

As I've already said please or offend, I am not going to enter into any discussion on this, this is just how I feel.

Have to say I agree with techspec. My local Tesco is currently fantastic and will take all MOC's and I chat to the SA's and know that a number of their staff also use this site to download their MOC's (one was in front of me at the checkout). However, one local Tesco just refuses to take any internet MOC's and another will only take off 10% of bill. All local ASDA's are refusing to accept internet MOC's. Think it is only a matter of time before head office get fed up with having the policy queried.
