Elephant now asking for no claims bonus proof

I ran a few searches on Confused.com varying the options to see what came up cheapest. I was unsure of my no claims bonus status, because for one year I was a named driver, the year after main driver. I wasn't sure if some insurers might have counted the first year as a named driver towards my no claims bonus, so on the last confused.com search I selected I had 2 years no claims bonus.
Elephant called me 5 minutes later trying to get the business. He was taking all my selected options from my last confused.com with 2 years no claims bonus which I said wasn't 100% certain, he said he'd resolve this. Can't remember vividly the entire conversation, but after speaking to a supervisor about what deal to offer me, he basically came back and said we can offer you £400 with this thrown in, and something like "we'll give you the 2 years no claims bonus too". I didn't question this and went ahead.
Week later I have Elephant emailing and mailing me, wanting proof of my 2 years no claims bonus. Lol, well sorry but I said I wasn't certain if there'd consider the named driver year towards it, he said he's resolve it, and offered me the 2 years no claims, said nothing else.
I don't even no what paper work there'd want, and to be honest, even if I don't have 2 years no claims bonus, the recorded call clearly shows me saying I wasn't sure, him saying we'll resolve it, and offering 2 years no claims bonus, so it's a done deal for me. What should I do?

When you get a renewal notice it states how much no claims bonus you have.
If you haven't been keeping these then I advice you start keeping them as insurers aren't very helpful when you're levaing them. What should I do?
How have things been left?
Are htey going to offer the insurance on the terms they offered or not?0 -
Send them the NCB proof you have (renewal notice showing 1 year's NCB), together with an explanation of the other year as a named driver, and the deal that was struck over the phone and leave the ball in their court.0

Late update, I found proof of 1 years no claims bonus with Admiral.
Phoned Elephant today, explained this was all I could find, and the advisor I spoke to said 2 years. As they're a sister company of Admiral she looked up my history with Admiral and found 2 years no claims bonus no problem, said I didn't need to send off anything. Great stuff, pleased.
I'm left thinking, why wasn't this done on the first call on doing the deal though? Whether the original advisor did verify 2 years no claims bonus with the overall company or not, all it took was a click of a button by this lady which was obviously missed before.
If other customers in such a situation just send off 1 years no claims, Elephant would not be cross referencing with they're sister company Admiral, and charge the customer a higher fee. When infact they always did have 2 years no claims bonus, they just didn't verify this on they're systems on the call of doing the deal, or later on as they can do, and should do imo. Especially as Admirals only ever sent proof of one years, it's they're fault, and they're responsibility, certainly reasonable for them to cross reference history with the overall company.0 -
when i left elephant for a lower priced insurance quote they were very funny about issuing proof of 3 years no claims!! luckily the company i was moving to gave me 28 days to prove my no claims status. elephant had not printed it on my renewal (5 years ago). prehaps they should honor it for 28 days while you gain proof (and then incur charges if you cant provide it) as it took 3.5 weeks to get proof from them ?? or is it double standards!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0
