...or more specifically City Link.
I thought you couldn't get much worse than Parcel Force but these clowns take the biscuit.
I was expecting a delivery on Friday and (as it happens) my wife was able to be in all day. Since some of the stuff we were waiting for was for her she was happy enough to hang about for the van.
The City Link web site has a tracking facility and they said
However.... Nothing was delivered. So I called the branch at @17:30 to enquire. The moron that answered the phone said "It was put on the wrong van" and "We can arrange delivery on Monday or Tuesday".
There was no apology and there was NO alternative! She refused to delver it on Saturday as the consignment was "paid for as a Monday to Friday delivery"
They mess up and they won't sort it out. I was offered the option of collecting the package myself. But it was a 60 mile round trip, raining, Saturday and I paid for next day delivery that they failed to manage.
I can accept that people make mistakes, it is not acceptable that they refuse to rectify them promptly.
Whatever, some the goods I ordered were needed before Monday morning. So the delivery (when it comes) is going to be terminaly late anyway.
I phoned to the nice customer service folks at Scan who are going to arrange a pre 9am delivery for me on Tuesday (that's OK as I can get that) and a refund of the postage costs. I also asked for compensation for the wasted day and that I had to buy a more expensive version of what was being sent from PC World and for a written apology and explanation from the idiots at City Link....I wonder if'll get any of that.
Still, how do you get it through to these 'service' industries that they are meant to offer a service and not some dire excuse for one? I can't see why the manager at the depot didn't get all the packages that went on the 'wrong' van sent out on Saturday. It beggers belief.
