Software problems with SE K800i mobile phone???

Hi,
my K800i just keeps freezing and turning itself off, etc. I think there must be some kind of software glitch.

Can anyone help?

If you go to the Sony Erricson site, there's an application to do updates in the k800i download section although I've not found any for mine. You may need to find a service centre to do a firmware update. Have a look on the Sony Ericsson site to see if they list any. Sad to say though that the k800i doesn't really have a problem in this respect. If you've got a memory stick in it, take it out and see if it works OK - could be a faulty stick.

Thanks. I just tried the update and now the phone just shows a white screen and doesn't go any further. Aaaaaargh

you will have to send the phone to SE seeing as SEUS updates all db2020 phones (eg k800/k810 and the w660 are a few examples of db2020 phones) to cid53 (the security protection on se phones).

i think jdflasher and far manager may support cid53 phones, but im not too sure

i managed to update mine though setool and there is one other but cant think of the name and it sorted mine out no end

My phone is out of warranty. Is there anywhere that I can take it to get it sorted because all it shows now is a white screen . Thanks for any advice
