Sell a property in 7 days? Anyone tried...

Hi All,

I just registered and this is my first posting.

I'm currently selling a 1 bed maisonette in the south-east of England via a well known estate agent but having very few viewings. In an attempt to see if I could speed up the sale, a quick search on Google for methods to sell property brought up the following website: http://www.a-quick-sale.co.uk/

They claim to buy properties for a 10 - 25% discount of market value which is quite steep but may suit desperate vendors (I'm not that desperate - yet).

Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing before or even heard/dealt with this sort of company?

I'd be interested to hear your feedback.

All the best,

JB

  • you could lower your price by 15%, I bet that would speed up a sale as opposed to maybe taking a hit of 25%

  • Well if you're not that desperate that, why are you considering it? They will offer 25% less than what they see as the market value, and effectively holld you to ransom, no negotiation. How long have you been on the market, and how's your relationship with your EA. Your first step should be to speak to your EA, ask their opinion on why you're not selling, they want the best price for you but don't want it lingering so you take take it off their books. They should also give you an honest account of your house's weaknesses and what you can do to improve the viewing experience, (typical things though I acknowledge not specific to you are things like getting the kids to take the dog for a walk so neither are in the house etc). Dont be so passive, if you're not "desperate" yet, you can do something about it yourself without these property loan sharks

C'm'on stick a rightmove link up for it & we'll do the house doctor thing on it (or just castigate your taste in furnishings).
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

I know you're desperate to look in people's houses Guy, but that post was two years ago! Hopefully he's sold by now.

Oh, I didn't notice that some spambot had dredged it up from the darkest, depths of MSE. I feel quite foolish now.

I think the spambot should feel foolish, if it is indeed capable.
