BBQ IDEAS - A change from the norm

Here's a different idea - ask people to have a light lunch/supper before they come, or provide something like home made soup or salad, and provide a barbeque as the dessert!
I saw a great recipe the other day I will have to try out. All you need is 1 pineapple, 1 lemon, a little bit of sugar and water. You can also make a lovely mango sorbet to go with it, and the best part is it's all fantastically easy to make.
For the main dessert:
Chop the pineapple into 8 wedges, lengthways. (So quarter it and halve them.) Leave the leaves and prickles on for show. Stick them onto the bbq and bbq them for a few minutes on each side (Not including the prickly side!) until the juices run out.
Meanwhile, mix the juice of half a lemon, the grated rind of a lemon, 25g caster sugar (Just under 1oz) and 2tbsp water, in a small saucepan. Heat it gently until the sugar dissolves, and then bring to the boil. Serve this syrup spooned over the grilled pineapple.
For the sorbet accompaniment: (Prepare the night before)
Get a can of mangoes in syrup and blend it until smooth. Add the juice of half a lemon (You can grate the rind before you do this and save the other half for tomorrow's syrup.) and put it in the freezer for about 30-40 minutes. Then take it out and break up the ice crystals with a fork, and freeze again overnight or for several hours.
You can search loads of bbq dessert recipes online and it is definitely different!I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0
