Thats a big list! And its got lots of crosses and red bits on - congratulations!

And I'm full of admiration with managing to do a tennis matched bet. I wish I'd made the time to study all of that. Ah well, I made a start this year, I'll push for a lot more next year.

The rules between these two were the same so no problem with tennis here - same as betting on football. It is rule differences that make tennis tricky!

I won't pretend I understand any of the above but glad you came out with a profit.

I guess I've heard about the rule differences and just got paranoid and let it shut me down :o ah well, we live and learn. I won't do one today on the final, I want to go out to these eco houses I've been burbling on about.

    See ya!

It is easy to be put off and I have to say I do sometimes take slight risks with rule differences - but only when it is a very low odd WR bet or something on someone who is unlikely to retire mid game! Of course there are no guarantees in that but I check the maximum loss in this case and if I think it worth the chance I will do it - got me through the Eurobet thing without too much grief.

Horses are another I have just started with. Again takes a little more thinking about than the football but as long as the returns are OK rule 4 can be factored in to your acceptable loss and again you can stick to the ones that have the same rules as BF. Great advantage of horses is that your bet is over and settled in minutes rather than hours or days!

But in the end I do prefer football if only that it is familiar and generally straightforward.

    Enjoy the eco house!

Right must get going. Still very wet here so chances of outdoor stuff minimal. Dogs going to kennels this afternoon as away for work tomorrow early and not back till late. Don't think they are going to get their long walk (wouldn't thank me for it - they are curled up in their beds looking very warm and dry!) - might manage a short one if the weather clears later. So today - apart from a few forms and stuff - it is get ebay stuff together day! I want to have 20 things set up in auctiva to be listed on Tuesday by the end of the day. That will hopefully help me make my fundraising targets for this month which currently stand at:
    • £0/£200 dog training
    • £26.67/£150 matched betting
    • £27.42/£100 ebay/amazon/car boot
    • £37.36/£15 cash back etc
That and another two loads of washing and a general sort out. Oh and some work I need to do in preparation for tomorrow. Better get showered and dressed!

At last some progress. Showered, dressed, two loads of washing done, a bit of training with the dogs to make up for the miserable weather, helped OH sort out wardrobe, found unworn suede leather jacket for ebay + a few other bits and bobs.
Now having a coffee before I get on with the ebay thing.

Decided I need to break that down too so:
    • Check through things that could be relisted
    • Find new items
    • Photograph new items
    • Weigh everything and work out postage
    • Prepare listings on auctiva
Will do the first while I have my coffee!

Cor, I wish I could find things like that to sell in my wardrobe! :rotfl:

Seriously, thanks for the thing about m.b.ing. It never occurred to me to do horsies... I've taken holiday on betfair now  but you can cancel that, I've just checked. So.... (KC takes a deep breath) which bookies are compatible with betfair on the horses? (KC also prays that they're ones she hasn't done).

Since KC is a kind of artificial construct, its not *quite* as odd talking about yourself in the third person as you might think, but still... it does have its moments :D

The details for the variations you can find are in this post - most bookies seem to fall into safe categories but you just have to check the rules on each one you do. I have only done horses at a couple. BGbet, Partybets, 888.com - all were fine (didn't do Eurobet it was the Partybets WR I was remembering).
This post gives you a neat summary of the main things to watch out for - but it is also worth reading the first few pages of the whole thread.

To be honest the trickiest bit with horses for me is that some bookies only list SP (no actual odds until very close to the race start) - I avoid those as I like a bit of time to check things. Also liquidity can be very low. But is definitely worth a look if you have a SNR freebie to use as the odds do tend to be higher on the whole.

    Have fun.

Yay! Thanks to Nadal I finally will have a decent balance in BF! have been having a terrible winning streak at the bookies - if I hadn't been laying everything I would've been rich!!! :p;):rotfl::rotfl:
