Where to put £80k

Hi,
I am selling my current house and will be making a nice £80k profit. This money needs to be kept safe with no risk until Nov when our new build is expected to be built (although this is an estimate could be sooner or later than Nov)
I was hoping I could get some ideas as to where I can put the cash to get a decent return. I looked at the Halifax 3 and 6 months saver accounts but was wondering if there are any others I havnt seen.
The problem is I cant lock it away for a set amount of time as the house may be ready early.
Anyway hope someone can point me in a few directions.
Thanks for reading

Oh dear! Buying a NB property!!!
Anyway, it is clear you need an instant access savings account. Check out money supermarket for the best a/c ATM.In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -

yes I read the news !
but obviously unlike you I choose not to be dictated to by scaremongers
I got a very good price for my house and an even better price for the new build.
So I ask again "what difference does it make" ?
maybe we should all just hide in a cupboard and put our money under mattresses !!Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. Michael, do you require best interest or immediate access to cash?
If you can wait 3-5 days for your cash at any time I recommend Kaupthing Edge.0 -
I am looking for best interest in the 6 months, like I said previously the house could be ready earlier or later. The 3-5 days notice sounds ideal as I am sure I would know well in advance when completion of the build is due. I will have a look at the one you mentioned thanks for the message (without personal comment....lol)
