That aint the answer. If you can't afford heating, go without something else so that you can.
    Television for instance.
Lots of things we think are essential are not essential.
Convenient maybe, like fridges and freezers but you aint gonna die if you give them up.

Ill let u into a secret, central heating dries up the air and causes sore throats etc, i dont have any heating on in the winter and never get a cold or illness.

Winters are mild nowadays compared with 1970s and before that when very few people had central heating, we all coped with paraffin heaters at the bottom of the stairs and on the landing to take the chill off and hot water bottles at bottom of beds. I was brought up to dress for the weather, if your feet and head are warm then your whole body is warm. ;)

Energy prices are tipped for another round of price increases before the end of the summer, ready for next winter. ;)

Of course it is also fair to say that during the 70s and pre 1970 winters were much colder in the north of england than in the south:o and whilst that may still be true now, winters are also much warmer in the north than they once were. ;)

i know how cold it was in 70s as i use to come from the cotsworlds and when i was younger are water bottle was a brick wrapped up in paper plus ice all hanging from the windows, how many remember that?yes i agree but you can only stretch your wages so far and as my husband not working due to collasped lung it is very difficult for me,

Sorry Andena, to hear of your husbands illness. Are you eligible for help maybe direct from your energy provider.
More than 10% of your income spent on gas and electric bills seems to be the break off point for help.

Out of interest is it 10% of income on heating or 10% of income on dual fuel. ?

Would be 10% on your income for energy needs, tho variable. Best to see your own supplier. There are also age benefits.
