7 x 2 x 3600mm £4.54 grab it

B&Q have a printing error on their web site.
i was pricing a job and noticed the price was listed wrong.
i printed the page and went to b&q blackpool, saw an assistent and pointed out the timber,he said it was an error, which i new as the proper price was double.
he called the manager who we will call P. a real serious jobs worth if you know what i mean, according to her i wasnt getting it. so in true martin fashion i demanded the product at that price,
she agreed as a one off purchase, there was about 50 lengths on a pallet.
they would not help in any way and were very abusive, i told her her aptitude was out of order. it wasnt my fault.
but with her aptitude i only took the timber not the flooring or other bits i needed. i will buy them else where,
but to have the last laugh i noticed another two pallets of timber on the racks, and demanded i wanted them as well. it took me all afternoon to transport it, and god knows what i am to do with it all ,son in law needs some decking . i will cut some down for partitions ect,
so diy.com timber functionel timber, Howie forrest graded c 16 17.5 x 360 x
4.7 £ 4.54 each grab it pdr:j

Why on earth did they let you buy this?? The price on shelf or on their website is not enforceable and they are under no obligation to sell it to you at that price.
The jobs worth manager was completely within her rights to say no to you, and should have just told you no.
BTW - I have no idea what sort of timber your post is about. Is it decking, rough sawn, etc.? And what size is it? 7mm, 7cm or 7"

I'm not at all sure I understand that posting.

    The legal situation is this:

Store has to sell at the lowest advertised price if a sale is made. Store is within rights to refuse to serve you. Offence only committed if sale goes through (money changes hands) and you then alert them to the failing.

Before the contract is made for the sale (and transfer of title of goods), the store could be accused of publishing misleading price information. However, there is some case law covering internet mistakes where if the price advertised would be clearly seem as a mistake (say a £1000 TV being punted at £10. or a New Mercedes for £2995.)

pdrskint well done, you stood your ground with the witch of a manager ( exchange that with a capital 'B' !! ) Personally i would Ignore ridiculous comments posted by the likes of these two above, Comments like these are not worth your time, you are truly posting a grabbit deal whilst these two rather silly people are wasting time!
Well donr and i hope you find use for all of it! To the rather unkind people posting harsh comments, am i mentioning your name- NO! So do not try and post anymore childish comments attacking me now, go and find some good deals and give us something to praise you for like pdrskint has done! Peace.

    Here's a link to the product http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9276001&fh_view_size=6&fh_sort_order=1&fh_sort_by=_price_rrp_min&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB&fh_search=timber+functionel+timber%2c+Howie+forrest+graded+&fh_eds=%c3%9f&fh_refview=search&ts=1210314241226&isSearch=true

Am i reading this right, you priced a job, went to buy the timber, but because it was 50% off the normal price you purchased much, much more than you required. You then spent the whole afternoon transporting all this wood, and now you don't know what you're going to do with it all?

I fail to see how you're the winner in this, infact with B&Q profit margins i think they ended up having a right laugh shifting all 3 pallets in one sale.

Edit: Something not right here, unless i have the incorrect product as i've been informed that £4.54 is the correct price. Reduced as the product is being discontinued
Note: that B&Q website prices are famous for changing a day before the stores price change day (which is a Friday). So i'm taking a guess that's what's happened here.

    Nah, he would have needed 2 x 2's for that, not 7 x 2's. :D
