If the worst day thing is incorrect then quite a few welfare rights organisations have got it wrong on their advice both offline and online - simply Google DLA and "worst day" to see how many organisations and support groups give this advice.

    Hello,

First off thanks for the reply's (every little bit of advice helps). My conclusion is it's all on how you describe your circumstances and how you fill out the form. I downloaded the form (just to use as a rough draft) and am going to complete and then see if I can get CAB or Welfare Rights to go over it for me. Someone told me to join a website called www.benefitsandwork.co.uk, any one think this is worth joining? Been told really helful advice etc.
Also, looking at the claim, think it is only lower care I could get as it fits my circumstances. I know it's only £17.05 a week but that would help out so much. Fingers crossed I guess. Will keep you updated as to my progress, but not planning on applying for another month or so, going to go see doc, CAB etc first.

    Thanks again, much appreciated.

  • if you get a form it will be date stamped you then have 4(or is it 6 weeks)to return it,it will then take upto 12 weeks to process the claim, but the payments will be back dated to the date stamped on the form
    good luck
