Central Heating Quote

Just had a quote from British Gas for installing central heating into a 3 bed semi with no central heating. The work includes removing 2 existing boilers, replacing with a combi and 7 radiators. The have quoted £5800 approx which seem quite high! Anybody else recommend any national companies who offer a good service or any local to Somerset? Many thanks.

Take any BG quote, reduce it by 50%, and that's a good price to aim for.

I can't recommend anyone yet, but I'll follow this thread because I'm in the market for the same thing!

Good morning: CORGI doesn't recommend CORGIs...it is a registration body. However, potential customers can check a CORGI's registration status and certifications here

To the OP... get at least 3 full specification, written quotations from CORGIs recommended to you by a source you trust. Please be aware that CORGI registration does not guarantee that the installer is also a competent plumber...you can find a CORGI with plumbing qualifications here .

BG quoted me something like £3800 for a job that I got done in the end for £2400, so definately worth getting several quotes as already stated above.
Ask friends/family/neighbours for any recommendations; generally the best way to go rather than picking someone out of yellow pages.

remember you need to get a decent Boiler.. Don't cut corners on price and end up paying more.
