It's disproportionate. A solicitor will ask for £150 - £200 per hour for private clients [maybe less if he is working for an insurance co]. Over a period of a year or more on a claim of say £2500, he could easily rack up 50 hours - say £7500 to £10000.
That's not true because there are fixed costs for RTA cases. The solicitors charge £800 plus a percentage of the agreed damages plus disbursements.
To the OP, I wouldn't accept a settlement so soon - you really need to see how long the injury is likely to last for before agreeing to any settlement. I'd wait until it settles down, at the very least.0
