I don't want to get into an argument about this but that isn't what you said.

What did I say that was incorrect then?

    Hi All,

Simple question - I was hit by a car and they are prepared to fix my damage.

I have taken it in for a quote and we are seeing the cost of the repair to be about 600 pounds.

Can I ask for this to be paid to me instead of getting the car fixed?

    Has anyone successfully done this?

    Yes, this can be done.

You simply send the third party a pro-forma.

You said don't accept cash for the injury. The injury can only be settled for cash - physio costs etc. are associated expenses (special damages) and can be paid directly to the provider but the injured person will still get cash for the injury itself.

I suppose in theory you could settle a claim for special damages only without paying for general damages but I don't think many claimants would accept that.
