    Well, yes, ultimately that is true at the end of the day and I suppose I will have to trust the tradesman knows what they are doing whether he chooses to replace part or all of the plasterboard!

    What a mess though when they take down the ceiling....I was scared he would get asbestos poisoning!!! He said it was fine but he's never in his life seen so much Cr*p come down from a ceiling!:D

    It's funny you should mention that, I couldn't believe the amount of mess left when the ceiling collapsed, 2 months later I'm still coming across bits of debris! I couldn't believe, there was even an old hand towel which came down with it...which makes me suspect the previous owners may have had some knowledge of the leak.

    I asked the plasterer whether it will be very messy and he assured me it shouldn't be as he will be using dust sheets...not sure I believe him now!
