I'm very confused!
Just got a 15inch 1.67 GHz powerbook, and I'm trying to connect it to the internet. In my house we have a netgear wireless router and we're with telewest broadband.
The mac is recognising that the account is there, the account name comes up when i try to connect but when I type in the password it says the password is invalid. I'm 99.9% sure that Im typing in the correct password so I really don't know where I'm going wrong!
I am able to connect to the internet by connecting the cable from the router to my mac. If it makes any difference, the computer was shipped over from America, don't know whether this is important at all, as you can tell I don't know much!
When connecting to the internet I'm selecting the airport option.
Any advice would be great

When you say you are entering the password which one are you entering??
The Blueyonder password won't be needed for the powerbook except for e-mail.
The password you will need for the wireless connection is the WEP encryption password if setup.
What i'd do is log onto your Netgear router at 192.168.0.1 and turn off all encryption etc.
When you've got it setup and working create new encryption and add the new codes to all your wireless devices.
The code for encryption will be very long but sometimes you can use passphrase as Netgear call it to shorten the typing down.
Hope this helps.
i'll check back later incase you need more help or I have misunderstood something.

Hi,
I can't help you with the MAC issue
but I can tell you that to connect to blueyonder internet you don't need to authorise with a password, It should just work 0 -
Thanks for your help everyone. i eventually sorted it. I needed to enter the netgear password to connect to the internet, i think anyway! anyway i fiddled around with a few buttons and options and now all is well and i'm very surprised i figured it out! more luck than skill i think though!0
