Please see the pictures below and tell me if you can see anyway I can wriggle out of it....
http://www.hayesrugby.com/fine/
I parked up for 1 minute to exchange money (on what I found to be red lines) with an off duty police officer. I pulled up behind and in front of parked cars (in bays) as you can see. The purpose of red eoute clearways is to keep traffic flowing and to reduce obstructions. any idea why stopping me from stopping where I am is preventing traffic flow? Im behind a parked car!!
Now before you spam me... I know the rules and know Im in the wrong and will pay unless someone has any good advice for an appeal.
Any advice please guys?

That's a definite case for the death penalty - that pedestrian had to walk all the way around your car.:D
I think they've got you bang to rights with the CCTV evidence and time lapsed photos.
But hey the "we told you so brigade" will be in from work soon to totally condemn you.

Red route is no stopping, end of. You stopped in an area not marked as parking therefore you were correctly charged. Doesn't matter at all whether it's a minute or the fact it was behind parked cars. You were caught on camera stopped. I can't see what the hell you think you have grounds to appeal on.0

I ride along the red route every night and someone stopping just to let a passenger out, causes the buses, taxis, etc to move around you, which stops the traffic in lane 2, further back cars move from lane 2 to 3, which causes congestion down the whole road.
All for one driver thinking he is above the sign.
Fair enough here your not blocking the flow of traffic but the red route is there not to be ignored, a car coming out of that junction would not be able to edge out to see round the parked cars because of where you stopped.0 -
Whats the off duty police officer bit got to do with it ?? why didnt you mention the red tartan rug in the boot ? would get you far more credibility if that was the object ; ) happy wriggling.0

While you do appear to have broken the rules (and how many times do people have to type this, but https://www.pepipoo.com), it is a shame that people these days can't show some discretion in these matters.0

His wheels appear to be on double red lines whilst the cars are in bays which will have single red and a time they are allowed to stop there0 -

Because they are spaces which the local businesses have negotiated with the council to have placed there. They are proper genuine perfectly legal to park in spaces. The OP didn't park in one of those.

This is clearly a money making scam. What is the point in having the red lines when there are cars parked in bays either side. The OP was clearly not stopping traffic end of...
Unfortunately I fear that common sence will not prevail - you will probably have to pay up.0 -
Whilst having a 20-foot long red-route inbetween 2 parking bays is absolutely stupid and serves no good except to make money, you did break the law so will probably have to pay and chalk it up to experience.0
