Boiler problem - No hot water

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this problem, so that I might have an idea what's wrong before the guy comes out to check it.

We live in a rented flat which uses a Worcester boiler (don't know the model off the top of my head). Last year, whwn eusing the shower, we began to have short periods in which the water would turn icy cold before warming back up to the original temperature. These periods of coldness became longer and more frequent and led to us flushing out the shower head with cilit bang to see if limescale was the problem. Hey Presto! A fair few large chunks of limescale came out of the head and the shower worked perfectly - until now.

Lately, the same thing has been happening again - expected that now, the shower does not heat back up at all and no hot water seems to be coming out of the rest of the taps (all the other hot water taps worked fine last time). Also, the boiler doesn't seem to be kicking itself into life. However, luckily, the central heating still works fine.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea about what the problem might be?
