Notice to newcomers re trolls.

hello all and welcome to MF. luckily these posts are very very few and far between, we had a venomous poster who was making weekly appearances but it would appear that he/she has backed off now which is fab, but yes that was whyi started this thread.
I know that discussions are going on at MSE towers re the subject right now re how to resolve the issue without scaring people away. Hopefully we will have a peaceful few months now,
PS I have net at home!!!!! woooooo!!!!! so a happy (but oh my god do i have a hangover) bump for today!!!

Thanks for this thread Pania. A few of us reported a troll on the Boots thread yesterday and the posts were deleted, but they are back again today.

How much leeway does MSE give them before sanctions are imposed. These trolls dont only put newbies off posting, they can make 'old timers' feel that it is not worth staying around any more. The Boots troll is making accusations towards me. Now op who know me will know the score. Its the newbies who dont know, and may think there is no smoke without fire.

I have reported them again. I know there is no easy solution, but I hope that MSE towers has a positive result to their discusions. x Trolls leave a really nasty smell behind them too :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I'm not sure what the leeway is poll, i think if the abuse team deem a comment to be beyond forum rules or abusive then it will get deleted.
Did you say they were deleted yesterday? thats certainly a new thing!!!! usual weekends and bankholidays are trolling playgrounds as theres no one around to delete. whats the thread hon?

Speaking as an 'old-timer', we need folk to stay, see them off on newbie posts and report them on regular & newbie posts.

Yes they were deleted last night. It's the Boots grabbit thread. They posted again today and were deleted within 30 mins. The second post was deleted within 5 minutes of it being posted (So fast I never had a chance to see it) . So well done to the mods. I know that the troll did not delete, as op who responded to them in support of me was deleted too . So someone is on the ball and I thank them for it. :T :T :T :T :heart2:
