firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

I am a newbie here, but not new to Forums. So far I have seen and reported spam - but related to links in the post rather than nasty comments per se, - I've seen those as well - so well done for keeping this thread at the top.

Just want to ask - are these types of posts - with links usually in the sig - a common occurrence here?

Not really hun, at least we try and keep the nasty posts to a minimum. As long as everyone jumps on nasty posts we keep them at bay. x x

Hi there - and welcome.

There can be some 'argumentative' people who post on various forums (quite often on the Vent and Bent forums) but I think Pania started this thread because there was a couple of people who were posting really hateful things in response to genuine posters who were asking for advice on this specific forum.

By the very nature of this forum, people are often worried, scared, desperate etc and need advice and reassurance, not venom.

It actually says before you enter this board:

A place of mutual support for those struggling to get out of debt plus help from other debt nerds

I'm sure you'll find many more nicer people than trolls here.

Hi hun all you do to quote is click the quote button it takes you to the advanced page option where you can put smilies:D
