Hello,
Just wondered if someone could please help me.
Does anyone know if this is a fair quote or not please as I havent got a clue about fencing!
To supply and install 30m of 1.8m high close board fencing complete with counter and capping rail. The posts to be concreted into the ground and all timber pressure treated. To also take down and take away the old fence.
The cost of the quote is £1009.00 Plus VAT. Which I think brings the cost to £1185.58?? This is in Oxfordshire.
Thats all the information that they have supplied me with.
Would really appreciate any help/advice that can be given.
Thanks very much.

Sounds pretty good for closeboard but I would second andrew-b, go for concrete posts if you can; they only cost a couple of quid more per post.
Check what depth they intend concreting the posts. You say the fence is to be 1.8m does this include gravel boards? They are definetly worth while!
If you stick with timber posts ask what size posts they are using; 3x3? 4x4? & does the quote include fence post caps/tops? If they use 3x3 you can get plastic Metcaps (99p each at B&Q) or 4x4 wooden fence post caps (about 50p each)0 -
