BCC Council Tax department

Options
As usual I am left wondering why did i bother to call them? We needed to change the direct debit payment for the council tax from my account to my partners account. So we filled in the direct debit form wrote a letter to the council and popped it into the post. Two weeks ago I called the council tax department to check that the change in direct debits has been done. Answer yes the direct debit is now going from Mr G's account not yours. This morning - council tax direct debit has left my account. I have yet to find out if the debit has also left my partners account as his online banking does not inform him of pending payments. I would not be so annoyed if they had not told me it was sorted!

    Who is BCC?
Why didn't you cancel your own direct debit just to be sure ?

I did not cancel the direct debit because this is the second time I have had problems changing the direct debits with them. The first time I wanted to change the dates so ended up I paying twice during the same month. Normally I would cancel the debit but I don't want to be chased for non payment of council tax!

    Suspected so...
I'd cancel it now and send them a letter recorded delivery, cc'd to your Councillor, explaining everything. Let them sort it out.
They've just had a new financial system encompassing nearly all payment systems and it's in an awful mess.
