Just wondered if anyone had a Smart meter installed to monitor their electricity usage. I came across this link about them -

Currently with Scottish & Southern, thinking about changing but cheapest I've come across for electric is British Gas and there is a lot in the news about them hiking up their prices so I'd be just as well to stay with Scottish & Southern.
So I will enquire at Scottish & Southern and see if they install these meters at all. Worth a shot if it means I can reduce my bill somewhat.

I don`t think you will find any supplier in this country install smart meters. They are used at the moment for Half hourly meter for large supplies but I doubt if any supplier will absorb the additional cost of the meter & the communications for domestic customers.
Italy has installed a few million but I am sure there is not an open market in Italy & everything is state owned .0
