Hi everyone,
Like a lot of people I have spent many an hour trawling through the internet trying to work out ways of boosting my income. The internet is scattered with offers which sound (and often are) too good to be true - earn £400 in just one hour, earn £10 000 a month guaranteed etc. etc.
Have any of you fallen for these scams? What happened? Are there any that really work?
Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy1750,
Over the years I have spent too much money on 'get rich scams'. The promises of quick easy money, working from home or a beach while the money rolls in, is a big con and plays on people's desperation to work for themselves and leave their day job.
I haven't bought any in a couple of years as they is so much free sensible and practical advice on the web. Any sales letter or website that promises riches over night is most probably a scam and will leave you disappointed and frustrated.
As I said, I have spent over £750 over the years trying to find the perfect system that would enable me to work from home. I don't believe that system exists, although there are a few products that touch on certain aspects of making money online and are from reputable online entrepreneurs who do make money and walk the talk.
If you do buy any online "get rich" schemes, most of them should offer a money back offer. Before buying always search for online reviews, email the person company selling the product and ask questions. If they don't reply, then don't buy.
If it's a bad or unworkable product, take them up on their money back offer. Always buy stuff off the web with a credit card as if you don't get a refund when they offered one, you can always contest with your credit card firm.Computer geek/junkie in waiting...:rolleyes:0 -
Hi John,
Many thanks for sharing your bad luck!
So many schemes out there that seem so tempting but I guess that they can't work or literally everyone would be doing them - and they'd no longer work. That being said however, maybe that's the solution to our problems - start selling get rich quick schemes that don't work!
Most stupid schemes that I've seen so far are the gambling ones - e.g. roulette systems where you bet on red or black and keep doubling your bet each time you lose. Any one with an ounce of intelligence will realise that losing in the long run is a mathematical certainty!
Only thing that I've fallen for was an ebook on making money selling ebooks which cost me £7. The book was only 60 pages and just stated the obvious with no useful tips or help. Did this yesterday, hence the reason for the post.
Hope you find something soon which enables you to start working at home.

You could waste a few evenings getting you're head around this

I am continuing with Internet Marketing, as creating a residual income, even if £50 a month will reap dividends. As as soon as I can make £50 a month regularly, I will then replicate that.
I think that's what confuses and frustrates alot of people. The sales letters and promises of quick overnight success. It doesn't work that way. To be successful in any business, takes time, patience effort and persistance.
I have been guilty of starting a project and giving up after a few weeks as no instant results were forthcoming. No, I don't buy any products, am focused on launching my IM business part-time and will make it a success and work with it through thick and thin.Computer geek/junkie in waiting...:rolleyes:0 -
Globalds: Have looked at the gambling loopholes sections of the forum and agree that there is money to be made if you know what your doing. Based on some of the posts it seems that you need to start of with (and risk) a lot of money to make any money. Not for me. But hey, I guess that making money is always about taking calculated risks.
John: Have a little experience of internet marketing myself and it seems to be a reasonable way of making consistent, but small amounts of money. First website I set up took just one evening to design and publish and I've been averaging £30 to £40 each month profit after advertising costs. The only effort it entails (once the website is up and running) is topping up the pay per click account! Also working on another venture at the moment involving affiliate marketing. Agree if you can duplicate 10 times or more a year, and continue to duplicate year in year out you are talking about substantial amounts of money!0 -

I think I did it as risk free as I could.
Well known bookie, plenty of checking, using sports I knew (football)
It is the only system I have ever found which works.

For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
I think many 'Get rich quick' schemes are misleading. However I do very well with various online sites with many producing a couple of hundred a day. However I've been in he internet marketing arena for many years. I can get a website producing that sort of figure within days of launching it but I do invest a reasonalbe amount of money to launch each one.0

You didn't buy it through the warrior forum did you?
They have a great marketing system going on in there. They all write posts telling people they make million of dollars per month selling on the net. Then in the offers board they sell their ebooks. They post a link, so other warriors can buy the book at a discount, then other warriors reply saying they've just bought the book and it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Of course they haven't really bought the book, it's just a ploy to make the casual visitor think the book is good, and buy it.0 -
richt71: Sounds like it is possible to significantly boost your income(!) if you know what you're doing. But I'm sure it takes a significant amount of time, hard work and creativity to achieve such a succesful sit as this. Have PMd you for some general advice on a project. Am sure that your busy with your next site but would appreciate any help or advice (no matter how small).
Geordie Joe: No, didn't buy from Warrior Forum, but strange that you mention that. That was one of the sites highly recommended in my ebook!!0 -

If you visit the site, and join you will get access to the Warrior Offers bit, don't get sucked into buying anything.
On the other hand, it is worth joining to get access to the free stuff. That's good if you don't mind selling cr*p other people.
To me the term Internet Marketing, as used on the warrior forum means "The art of making the cr*p you are selling sound like the best thing since sliced bread".0
