Just bought a newish Ka, from an independant dealer, and never bothered with a bill of sale - does it matter? I got all the other paperwork I needed, service book, mot cert, HPI check etc.......

So which document in your possession say's that you own legal title to the vehicle?

Err, the log book? Isn't Registered Keeper the same thing?

Err no. I think you'll find somewhere on the V5C that the Registered Keeper doesn't necessarily have to be the legal owner. Registered Keeper says it all really. Otherwise it would state Registered Owner?
You need to get some form of invoice/proof o0f ownership from the dealer. Why didn't they supply one? That's what I'd be curious about.

Thanks for the advice - I have rung the garage and they are going to post one out. More haste less speed eh - I was rushing when collecting the car (Ka!)

Good, hopefully now sorted. Yes, we've possibly all been there at some time - can't wait to get behind the wheel!:D
