I bought some items of Playtrade ,an affiliate of play.com and the supplier has sent different (lower value ) items .
The info I have .
This is what I purchased http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3330475/Kingston-Data-Traveler-4GB-USB-Flash-Drive/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0
I bought from the top company DVDUK ltd .It is now priced at £15.93
I bought the item when it was priced at £6.71 with free delivery .
I ordered 3 of these and had the funds debited from my account straight away .
Yesterday I recieved 3 packages from the company .Only they contained 2gb kingston data traveller sticks ..
I emailed both Play.com and DVDukLtd explaining the mix up .
So far only DVD UK ltd have replied

Dear ***********
I am very sorry we have sent you the 2GB instead of the 4GB USB flash drive; this item was wrongly listed on Play.com, you have only been charged the price of a 2GB but should you wish to return it we will of course fully refund you at no cost to yourself.
Please return the item to;

I am sorry for the obvious inconvenience caused.

Dear Rebecca
I don't want a refund. And if I had wished to purchase a 2gb flash drive, Then that is what I would have purchased .
I wish to receive the product I ordered which was a 4gb Data traveller. As I see you still have the item in stock Then I would like for you to rectify your mistake and replace the 2gb sticks with 4gb I would also expect not to be out of pocket due to postage fees .

I think eventually I will get my three 4gb flash drives .What does any body else think .
This may be a misprice item ....But they have chosen to to take the payment and then sent a diferent item .

As far as i see the contract has been completed with the exception of the supply of goods, you can of course buy them elsewhere and sue for the difference in cost but is it really worth it?, it was an obvious mis-price i would have thought but still you are in the right so, get trading standards to phone/email them and explain your entitlement.click here to achieve nothing!0

If you don't get any joy with them and decide to accept the refund, eBuyer offer the same one over a fiver cheaper.

I noticed they have had negative feedback for the same thing, or was that from you?
Edit: There seem to be a couple for digruntled buyers with the same complaint.Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0 -

I hadn't thought to read the feedback ..I will have a look .
I am not after anything other than the item I purchased .I think I will have to push a bit harder ..No reply from them yet .
I will post my new mail once I have sent it ..0 -
A bit of an update and a quick question.
I sent off an e-mail .

Rebecca
Yesterday I emailed you with my refusal to accept your offer of a refund and that it is my wish that you fulfil the contract between myself and the company you represent .
As I stated yesterday I have checked and the correct item I purchased is in stock .
I can understand after reading feedback that I am not the only person you have chosen to send an incorrect and lower value item to, and that your customer services may well be busy .
I would expect at least an acknowledgement of my e-mail.
Should you wish to ignore my e-mails or fail to contact me with instructions on how I can swap these items for the ones I ordered I shall contact trading standards officers and ask them to pursue this matter .
A positive response from them was anticipated , and sure enough this arrived
Hi *****
I will send you the 4gb if you would kindly return the other one.
Kind regards,
Eddie

My worry now is that they will say the item never arrived ..I wish to use the free post address. Is there a way of upgrading to recorded delivery ?Or should I just post it back ?0 -
you can add a recorded label and pay 70p postage on top to cover the RD0
